Grandpa as Mainstream Audience November 24, 2007
So, I learned over Thanksgiving that my grandfather has become a reality television fan. I’m not sure what that means for the state of television, but it certainly surprised me given his usually conservative entertainment choices.
He has become particularly fond of The Bachelor and Dancing With the Stars. The man actually calls in and votes. At dinner, he spent at least fifteen minutes recounting a Bachelor plot line involving one young lady whose father was interviewed saying he thought the bachelor in question was wrong for his daughter because his lifestyle just begged for trouble. My grandfather agreed wholeheartedly.
